2026 Slate of Democratic Candidates

Re:  Candidate Slate for 2026

We are excited and energized to announce our outstanding Democratic candidate slate for the upcoming election season!  The nomination at State Convention for Secretary of State candidate Beau Bayh, Jessica Bailey for Comptroller and Coumba Kebe for Treasurer mark a milestone of unity and frontline offense that only helps our down-ballot candidates.  We are proud to stand behind individuals who are committed to protecting democracy, strengthening our communities, and fighting for working families.

Right here in the 6th District, we are excited to support our democratic nominee Cinde Wirth, who needs every help she can get to remove Jefferson Shreve from this seat.  An elected congressional official that works hard for us could make so much difference advocating for ALL of us from a federal level.

Our State House Representative nominees are no different in urgency or need for support.  District 88’s Stephanie Jo Yocum has built a solid foundation and is moving forward to flip the seat that Chris Jeter holds now.  She has a real chance of winning this district and just that push over the finish line with voters is all she needs.  There are expected to be some great announcements coming for the other state house districts in our county and I look forward to sharing them once things are official.

Closest to my heart are our local candidates running for office throughout the county. These candidates are the heart of our communities; neighbors, advocates, and public servants stepping forward to make a difference where it matters most. Their willingness to serve demonstrates a belief that local leadership can create meaningful change.  Unlike so much else, governmental power starts those lower positions and feeds up.  It’s easy to get swept up in the headlines of federal and state but right in our own backyards, decisions are being made that directly affect us.  This is how we make a lasting impact.  Local elections do matter.

Together, this slate represents hope, progress, and a shared commitment to building stronger communities for everyone. We look forward to working together throughout this campaign season and supporting every candidate as they connect with voters across the county.

The future is bright, our ballot is full and we are ready to move forward together.   We need every voter’s support in getting the word out about our candidates and making sure you get out to vote in November.  It takes us all, in so many ways but I know we are up to the task and ready for change.  Let’s do this!
