2026 Primary Election
Voter Information
In a county like Hancock, where Republican candidates often dominate the ballot, it might seem like voting in a Democratic primary doesn’t make much difference.
But in reality, every Democratic ballot cast sends a powerful message and has long-term strategic value:
Visibility = Viability
When Democrats show up in primaries, it shows candidates, donors, and the media that we’ve got a real base here. Strong turnout makes it more likely that good Democratic candidates will step up in the future because they know there’s support behind them.
Turnout Drives Campaign Money
Money only comes into campaigns when voter turnout is strong. The more Democrats who vote, the better chance we have of attracting donations from more places and building the resources needed to win.
Local Races Run on Momentum
Even if a race isn’t competitive right now, showing up builds the foundation we need: volunteers, data, and voter lists. That’s what fuels future campaigns. Plus, it helps lift up down‑ballot candidates who often get overlooked but make important decisions in our communities.
You Help Shape the Agenda
Primaries set the direction of the party. Your vote helps decide what issues matter most to local Democrats — even in smaller elections.
Changing the Narrative
In a Republican‑heavy county, Democratic turnout proves that “blue voters” are here. It encourages neighbors who might feel politically alone and helps build a stronger, more connected community.
Do Not Forget What Happened in 2024:
We must pull Democratic ballots to show Hancock County will not stand for this. Every ballot proves Democrats are strong, that Republican “values” have abandoned their own party, and that as a full community, we do not support tactics like this.
The more Democrats who vote, the louder our message — and the stronger our future.
