Indiana House District 88

Job Requirements
United States citizen at the time of the election
Be at least twenty-one (21) years old upon taking office
Registered to vote in the election district intending to represent no later than the date to file declaration for candidacy
Have resided in Indiana for at least two (2) years and in the house district for at least one (1) year before the election
Responsibilities
Create and vote on bills that make new laws or modify and update old ones
Research and be well-versed, familiar, and accurately informed on the important needs of the district
Represent all of the diverse constituents of the district
Host town halls and be available to constituents
Collect and respond to constituent feedback
Train and supervise staff members who engage with constituents
Be a good steward to taxpayer funds
Maintain economic prosperity for this district
Serve on various committees
Attend district and state functions

History of Community Service or Military Service
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience running meetings, managing budgets, and setting policy
Compensation
$27,204 annual salary plus $184/per diem unvouchered, plus medical, dental, vision, short/long term disability, and term life benefits
