Greenfield City Council

05/27/26

Terry Bynum

  All councilors present

First action was tabling a grant request from Zoey’s Place without discussion.

On 2nd & 3rd reading, the council passed an ordinance amendment requested by the police chief, which makes it illegal to park a vehicle within 20 feet of the entrance or driveway of the police department.

Also passed an amendment to an ordinance about military service for city employees, clarifying several aspects of pay for active and reserve military.

They tabled another amendment to the curfew ordinance–they are apparently having a little trouble with the appropriate language.  Beckenholdt park was the primary reason for this ordinance, which would have set a sunset curfew on all parks.  But the attorney discovered that parks with lights would also be affected, so the amendment was pulled back to be rewritten.

Also passed an amendment to the loitering ordinance, clarifying penalties for repeat offenders.

Heather Condra from Greenfield Main Street made a presentation, thanking the council for its’ grant support, and reporting on activities of Greenfield Main street over the last year.
