Mayor Titus was absent.
The Sister Cities Organization was given a 10K grant from the city.
The council agreed to waive the non-compliance finding for CF1 of Indy Car. This is the old BWI building–now being used by West Pharmaceuticals. A spokesperson for West told the council they were not aware of the necessity of filing the CF-1, and they have now put procedures in place to make sure that Indycar(the original submitter) fills out the forms, and West Pharmaceutical submits everything.
The council passed an amendment to the Fire Territory salary ordinance adding 3 firefighters. The Fire Chief submitted statistics showing the department is making approximately 17 runs per day (fire & medical). The additional staff will help.
They also passed an ordinance making additional appropriations.
Parks....60K–Fire Territory...210K–Water utility....$165K(after a public hearing at which no one spoke)
The council passed on first reading, an ordinance setting out a rate hike schedule for water, wastewater and sewer. They set a public hearing on the ordinance for the July 22nd council meeting.
And they passed an ordinance setting new curfew times for city parks.. Parks with lights will close from 10PM till Sunrise Sun-Thur, and 12M-Sunrise Fri & Sat. Parks without lights will close from sunset to sunrise-7 days a week.
This was councilman Dan Riley's last meeting. He has retired from the council and is moving out of Greenfield to be closer to his children & grandchildren. He received accolades from several people praising him for his long service to the city and school board. The council gifted him a clock.
