SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT AGENDA ITEMS AND KEY POINTS
A lot of money was moved around at this meeting. A 14 hundred dollar grant came in from Hancock Community foundation that will be used to train probation officers.
The council approved 4 CF1 forms from Ambrose noting they were in compliance, and asked for more info on a 5th form, noting that deadlines for pulling permits and starting construction had not been met. (I think all of these are for warehouses in the Mt. Comfort Corridor.) Some generic discussion concerning what they should do if an applicant meets or exceeds the employee projection for the abatement, but comes up short on the projected salary.
They held a series of public hearings on appropriating specific amounts of money for specific purposes–for example, a new building at the county jail to house inmate programs, hiring courthouse security, putting in a new bridge in the county, and allocating restricted and unrestricted opioid money.
All appropriations passed.
They also passed an appropriation reduction of 2 million dollars, because the Highway Department received a state/federal grant that they weren't sure they were going to get–(for the Steinway Rd. project)
The group spent 15 or 20 minutes discussing changing wording on applications for abatements. There was no decision made.
