SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT AGENDA ITEMS AND KEY POINTS:

Routine agenda items addressed under old business.  There was not public comment participation.

NEW BUSINESS

1.   Ordinance on UTV’s.  Passed with addition of safety amendments.  Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs) will be permitted on town roads, except US 52 and Gem Rd (500W).   A separate ordinance exists for golf carts.  This does not apply to ATVs or motorbikes.   Includs specific registration requirements.  

2.   Approved Redevelopment Commission (RDC) Report on Activities of the New Palestine Redevelopment TIF District for 2025.  Deals with Hancock Health Development area (proposed apartments, Kroger grocery and other retail).   Lists RDC commissioners, consulting firm agreement, and financial details.

CONTINUED COUNCIL CONVERSATIONS: Lengthy discussion on updating employee benefits. Change from a designated time off (sick, vacation etc.) to a PTO format.  Some members of the council do not have a clear understanding of the PTO concept. Plan is to study further before moving forward.
