SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT AGENDA ITEMS AND KEY POINTS:
Old Business:
-Approved 2nd reading of Ordiance 2026-3B
-Representatives from GRW and Reynolds Contruction requested additional upto 139,000 to install a palama (?) filter to the new water treatment system to balance out the iron and ammonionia levels in the water.Approved
New Business:
-Approved 2025 RDC report
-Approved closing main street from Kammy’s Kause from 12:00 a.m. to
12:-00 p.m. on August 29, 2026.
-Declared April 26 as Fortville Arbor day.
-The Fortville Action Inc, requested permission to plant flower in the alley and planters; approved. Add an electrical outlest to the alley for the Christmas trees exhibit; approved. Big discussion on the “bump-outs” concerning mulch and watering by the town. Several push-backs from the council. Discussion on the rules and regulations concerning planting in the bump-outs.
-1st Reading of Resolution No. 2026-4A, the Town of Fortville parks and Recreation Master Plan. The 2026 plan is a new plan that contains many reqests that cannot be completed at this time due to federal money restraints, howver included in case money becomes available.
Closing
-The parks department will have trees available on April 26 for Arbor day.
-Council still discusing the bump-outs.
-The IHSAA Indiana champions will be invited to the next council meeting on April 20. 2026
