SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT AGENDA ITEMS AND KEY POINTS:

1.     Highway and Facility Updates: routine business on various road, bridge and building projects in the county with approval of related contracts.  Gas tax holiday resulted in $90K revenue loss.  Digressed to some political discussion related to regulations related to historic and cultural preservation.  Pool plans to ask state legislators to assist with eliminating these regulations.

2.    Chief Probation officer Gayle Conley requests entering Memo of Understanding (MOU) with TRECS, company that collects delinquent fees (i.e. probation fees) by garnishing tax returns.  Board was prepared to approve until feedback from county Treasurer (Jane Klemme), who wants to investigate further. 

 

3.     Updated Job Descriptions and salaries for Geographic Information System Manager and Specialist were presented and approved.

 

4.    Request from Bernie Harris from IT for funds for alarm and wireless mics approved.

 

5.    Telework policy for Public Defender’s Office presented and approved.

 

6.    Request from Kayla Brooks of Plan Commission for use of surplus vehicle for use in code enforcement approved.

 

7.    Report on progress of Sheriff Support Building (see link above for background).  Costs $700K per month for next six months.

 

8.    Parks and Recreation Board was recognized as part of Parks and Recreation month.
