BACKGROUND:

Previous councils were complacent in addressing wastewater treatment upgrades. 

SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT AGENDA ITEMS AND KEY POINTS:

 Wastewater treatment facility updates and utility rates:

·         Completion date deadline of August not met by contractor.  New estimated completion date tentative November.

·         Contractors will have financial penalties negotiated but likely $2500 per day

·         Require future developers to cover costs of needed upgrades

·         Rate will increase from current $98 to $142 (combined wastewater and storm water) in November.  Goal is to eventually reduce rates as more customers sign on. 

·         Pending rate increases will be communicated to customers vial mail.

Architectural Committee

Discussion on if this is still needed given state legislature mandates on increasing housing. 

New proposed development (Arbor Homes) South Bittner Road. 

·         Requests annexation to town. 

·         Currently proposed homes not acceptable to town.  Will negotiate with developer

·         Bridge on Bittner due to for update in 2028

New 4-way stop at US 52 and Bittner Road has improved traffic flow.
