MEETING: Citizens’ Data Center Subcommittee

BACKGROUND:

Report is short because much of the meeting involved back and forth debate.

Chairperson Long received request to speed up process.

SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT AGENDA ITEMS AND KEY POINTS:

·   Speeding up the process because Mr. Long received a phone call requesting something sooner. 

o Something will potentially be submitted in September to Board of Commissioners. 

·  PUD discussion

o Plan Director recommended not using PUD for data centers. 

§ PUD difficult to manage from a planning perspective.

§ Recommending PUD would undermine the valuable work done by the subcommittee. 

·  Handing off questions compiled by scribes to staff. Staff will write an ordinance for subcommittee to review.

·  Public hearing and comment at August 18 meeting.  Sign up sheet is online to speak at this meeting.

·  Scribe subgroup drafted a lengthy document of questions they got from past meeting minutes and documents submitted by committee members.  This was distributed to committee members during the meeting rather than being distributed in advance.
