Drainage board–normal business–approved several variances.  Most notable business was a lot of discussion about cleaning out a ditch and swale in the Hunter's Chase subdivision in Mt. Comfort.  Apparently, some homeowners have made changes in the swale, which is causing some flooding and overflow into other drain tile.  Changes were apparently made by owners who are no longer in the subdivision.  Council agreed to fix the problem. 

Commissioners Meeting–

Hiway Dept. report.  Comm. agreed to spend almost 1.5 million on  2 roundabouts and a bridge overlays–apparently, this the last of 7 grants from the state to the Hiway Dept. 

Gary Poole is also pleased that most of the gas tax money lost over the last few months to the governor's suspension of the gas tax will be reimbursed by the state.

The sale of the Jack and Sons property has been stalled, due to the death of Jack.  When his family is ready, this will move ahead. 

The Fortville Area Resource Mission (FARM) gave a short report on what they do and why.  They stopped short of asking for money, but were moving in that direction.  The Commission steered them to the Council, which controls the purse. 

9110 John Jakontas asked to restructure a position in his department.  He plans to do a nationwide search for a electronics repair tech.  Apparently, the Council directed him to approach the RDC for the money for this position, and the Commission approved.  If the RDC refuses, he'll be back to the Council. 

The Commission also approved changes to the Animal Control contract with Greenfield City. (Don't know what the changes were.)  This year, Hancock Co. will pay Greenfield $479k, next year, 503K. 

The Commission also recommended to the Council that they grant Boys & Girls Clubs of Greenfield the $72000 they requested.  (Every 5 years they have to remove themselves from the Lilly Endowment.  This year they are asking the county for a grant until they can back on the Lilly Endowment).
