This was a normal business meeting, with few fireworks till the end. 

The board approved the addition of a courts manager, after Judge elect Manship justified the duties and the impact on the court system. 

Gary Pool from the Hiway dept presented contracts for approval for bridge repair. He also talked about 3 grant applications for hiway operations totaling over 4 million dollars.  

The Jack & Sons salvage yard sale has been recorded.  The yard will not accept incoming salvage and will only send out salvage for the next year.  Then, Greenfield will begin a brownfield clean up plan through the EPA to make the land usable again. 

The board approved a resolution to add a Title 6 (ADA) coordinator, as well as approving a resolution for implementing ADA compliance in the county. 

There were a few bond releases and bond acceptances for new projects, as well as 4 Right Of Way dedications for subdivisions. 

Hiway dept is also working on the contract for microtransit with Hancock Sr. Services and Greenfield. 

Poole also asked the commission to approve a request he will make to the County Council asking for an additional $50K for ADA compliance in county buildings. 

He also announced he has reached agreement with CSX for several closings of railroad crossings for repair.  All the work will be done in Oct., and will take about 4 days per crossing. 

The planning dept. asked for an amendment to the contract with their outside planning consultant, for specific help with data centers.  The amendment added $70K to an existing $39K contract.

Community corrections presented a proposed contract for approval for 5 beds in the Madison Co. Juvenile Detention Ctr, at a cost of $250K–(over $600 per day).

Approved. 

The commissioners also quietly approved the expansion of the Mt. Comfort Corridor Tiff district. 

To end the meeting, 2 people from the Woodhaven subdivision spoke against the EQT data center project, while another had a suggestion as to how to save money on the juvenile detention contract. 

Since it was public comment, the board did not respond to any of the comments.
